LIFE ESSENTIALS is the new name of a business unit at Symrise. It was previously known as the “Cosmetics” business unit in the Scent & Care division.
LIFE ESSENTIALS not only includes the innovative cosmetic ingredients which have made us one of the leading businesses on the market. The new name also reflects the expansion and reorientation of our business activities above and beyond cosmetics. Plant-based bioactive cosmetic ingredients with beneficial properties are already being developed as part of our work with BRAIN AG and AnalytiCon Discovery GmbH. We are active in other areas as well: in 2008 we became the exclusive distributor of AllPlant Essence®, a series of 100% organic, water-soluble plant extracts manufactured by the Californian company Bayliss Ranch. Beyond that, our holdings in the US biotechnology company Therapeutic Peptides Inc. have also secured us the exclusive distribution rights for peptides. This ultra-innovative group of active ingredients offers numerous benefits, including anti-microbial and anti-aging properties.
With our stake in the biotech company Cambridge Theranostics Ltd., we are one of the first companies in the field to actively pursue the sector of medical food – and this meets consumer needs as part of the global trend towards health, beauty and well-being.
