DELIVERY SYSTEMS
Delivery systems such as encapsulation technologies are the key to creating superior consumer experiences such as long-lasting, controlled fragrance or flavor release and high impact. Symrise works and researches focuses on two encapsulation platforms: spray drying (InCap) and interfacial polymerization (SymCap).
Spray drying
InCap is a cost-effective delivery system mainly for deodorants, anti-perspirants and powdered detergents. Body moisture triggers the release of the encapsulated fragrance or other encapsulated material. New developments include a patented technology to produce a uniquely high load of 70% fragrance compared to the standard load of 50%.
Interfacial polymerization
SymCap has been developed for use in laundry detergents and fabric softeners to provide long-lasting fragrance on dry fabric. The release mechanism is based on friction.
