A biomass boiler was put into operation at the Diana Food site in Antrain, France, on June 9, 2015. A thermal power station, it burns biomass (wood pellets) and propane gas in a steam boiler. Generating energy this way is very environmentally friendly and covers more than 90 percent of the energy needs at the Antrain site. As a result, the annual CO2 emissions are reduced by more than 6,230 tons. PCEF-certified pellets are used; their certification guarantees that they come from sustainably managed forests. Leading politicians from the region were also in attendance at the opening celebration for the biomass boiler.
