Scent & Care

— Yohanna Sander and Susan Pungitore join Symrise’s Cosmetic Ingredients team.

Symrise has added two experienced cosmetic specialists as Senior Product Managers to the Product Protection Category. Since their recent arrival, Yohanna Sander and Susan Pungitore have been working to advance the area of alternative preservation.

Consumers demand safer products, particularly when it comes to their skin and hair care selections. Product protection ingredients, including preservatives, are meant to prevent microbial growth in a wide array of cosmetic formulations, thereby helping to protect consumers from the ill-effects of at-risk personal care products. The Cosmetic Ingredients Division at Symrise AG ensures that this key component of cosmetics fulfills the current consumer demands, latest trends and regulatory requirements. To expand the team managing this portfolio of ingredients, Symrise has brought two experienced professionals on board.

New Experts Bring Diverse Know-how

Yohanna Sander has a Master’s degree in International Marketing and Biochemistry and brings 10 years of experience in the cosmetics industry. As Global Product Manager at the French cosmetics and pharmaceutical ingredients group Seppic, she was managing several product portfolios, including anti-aging ingredients, functional active ingredients and hygiene products. Prior to that, Yohanna Sander worked in sales for the cosmetics chain Sephora (owned by the LVMH Group) in Paris.

Susan Pungitore has a Master’s degree in Biology and 13 years of experience in the cosmetics and skin care industry. As a senior researcher at the wet-wipe manufacturer Nice-Pak, she was responsible for the marketing and product development of various antiseptic skin and disinfectant products. Prior to that, she worked at chemical company ISP (currently Ashland) and cosmetics manufacturer Avon. At the latter, she coordinated microbiological tests in research and product development, covering an extensive assortment of cosmetic and personal care formulations.

Committed to Being the Leading Supplier of Ingredients for Modern Preservation

“With their extensive experience and comprehensive industry knowledge, Yohanna Sander and Susan Pungitore have the right skills to provide our customers the most appropriate systems to preserve their formulations,” says Dr. Ravi Pillai, Vice President of Micro Protection Category in the Cosmetic Ingredients Division. “These appointments are a sign of our commitment to maintain Symrise’s position as the leading supplier of modern product protection solutions that meets the needs of today’s consumers.”
