How can less be more?

Consumers feel an increasing desire for healthier and controlled lifestyles. They crave for beverages with less sweetness and less calories without compromising on taste or experience.

Recently Symrise has conducted a cross-category consumer study to understand the relevance of sugar reduction and the potential of different sweet solutions. The research has shown that consumers actively seek for sugar-reduced products and approx. 75 % of the consumers can imagine choosing a sugar-reduced variant!

At the same time, consumers have different expectations towards sugar reduction that we have translated into three routes of sugar reduction. These represent the minimum of the ways to reduce the sugar level and at the same time meet consumers’ needs and wishes.

We follow our ambition to provide best in class integrated taste balancing solutions that deliver against the consumer need of great taste in good-for-you products and thus proving that less is sometimes more.
