Symrise’s in-cosmetics trade show presentation 2015 will focus on ‘A day in the life of…’ with formulation ideas for sensitive skin. At booth 7F20, visitors can also discover products from the company’s flower extract collection, its plant juices and its cosmetics color range. The trade show’s innovation zone will also highlight its plant juice collection as well as SymOcide® PH, a broad-spectrum liquid preservative blend as a one-product solution for cold process formulations. The largest trade show for cosmetic ingredients takes place in Barcelona from April 14-16, 2015.

“What does it mean to live with sensitive skin in Asia, Europe or the Americas? Every consumer region comes with its own specific requirements,” explains Dr. Gabriele Vielhaber, Senior Vice President Cosmetic Ingredients at Symrise. “At in-cosmetics 2015, we will present how we are tailoring formulations to local skin types along with a selection of our highly effective and natural solutions – an area where we see huge potential for future developments in line with our customers’ requirements.”

The Soft Touch: The Sensitive Skin Formulation Collection

All sensitive skin is different, be it in Asia, Europe or the Americas. So are the solutions for it. The sensitive skin collection from Symrise contains a number of proven cosmetic ingredients that gently treat sensitive skin. Among them are proven effective soothing solutions, ingredients protecting against environmental damage, refreshing agents or UV protection, emulsifiers, emollients and modern preservative systems. Thanks to its modular structure, formulators may adapt the choice of ingredients according to local requirements.

Less is More: SymOcide® PH

Today consumers expect cosmetics to contain skin-friendly preservatives. This is achieved through the use of SymOcide® PH, a broad-spectrum liquid preservative blend for cold process formulations like shampoos, wipes and lotions. The components of SymOcide® PH have antioxidant and moisturizing properties. The product will also be featured at the in-cosmetics innovation zone.

Nature’s Best: Super/Plant Juices

From the very beginning, humans have used plants as cosmetic ingredients. Their efficacy thus has a long and proven history. State-of-the-art in vitro screening has proven that plant juices have especially strong antioxidant capacities and soothing properties. Pressed ginger juice even shows skin brightening effects. The Symrise range consists of pressed plant juices obtained from freshly harvested plants without using any extraction agents. Dandelion, horsetail, melissa, ribwort and stinging nettles are grown and collected in Germany and are fully traceable. High-grade ginger juice from Sri Lanka rounds out the portfolio. All plants are pressed directly after harvesting and are certified organic. Symrise will also show the novel plant juice collection at the in-cosmetics innovation zone.

The Power of Flowers: The Flower Collection

Humans have long been using the power of flowers in their daily lives. The language of flowers is universal, poetic and delicate. To this day, consumers prefer products that are inspired by nature. Symrise captures this heritage and has opened the flowery well of inspiration for various applications. Traditional, medicinal, exotic, sensual, legendary and power flower extracts are available to enrich body wash, hair care and facial care products.

To Dye for: Symrise Colors

The color of cosmetics pleases the eye as much as their efficacy pleases the skin. It is therefore an influential factor in the formulation of shampoos, shower gels and foundations, which come in multiple shades. Symrise has developed a well-performing portfolio of colors for those cosmetic applications. Offering ingredients and colors from a single source considerably decreases the complexity of formulations for customers.
