Gulfood Manufacturing 2018: Symrise is naturally well positioned in a rapidly expanding market

Authentic foods, fresh ingredients, sustainable enjoyment – the trend of healthy and conscious nutrition is also sweeping through the Middle East. Symrise is well prepared for this: At the “Gulfood Manufacturing 2018” trade show in Dubai, the fragrance and flavoring manufacturer will present a variety of concepts for healthy and wholesome foods with outstanding taste at booth S3-B6.
From November 6 to 8, 2018, approximately 1,600 exhibitors from around the world will show what they have to offer at one of the largest international trade shows of the food processing industry. Symrise will take this invitation to exchange knowledge in the metropolis of Dubai. “The Middle East is a dynamic region with enormous potential,” said Sofiane Berrahmoune, Sub Regional Director Flavor Africa Middle East at Symrise. “What happens here influences the entire Middle East, the Indian subcontinent, Asia, Africa and also Europe.” This is a strongly growing market for which the global fragrance and flavor specialist develops customized products of the highest quality.
“Our analyses clearly show that a crucial change has taken place in the Middle East: Here, consumers also increasingly want to eat healthier, which translates into an ever-increasing demand for natural foods,” elaborates Berrahmoune. “In addition to the desires of the customers for more authenticity, the individual countries are prescribing the regulations accompanying the increasing health awareness.” These regulations should encourage food and beverage manufacturers to offer more products with considerably less sugar, salt and fat.
Healthy nutrition with taste – in many forms

This includes, for example, a cucumber-lemon-mint flavored water with reduced-sugar and a non-dairy iced chocolate drink as well as a Greek yogurt with acerola and chia seeds and cupcakes with Symrise vanilla taste. All in all, Symrise will present approximately 70 cakes, snacks, dairy products, and drinks this year.
Taste with a Middle Eastern twist
Authentic natural tastes, such as dates or cinnamon, continue to play an important role in the culinary culture of the Middle East, and are attractive to the palates of consumers in the region. “Symrise was the first specialist for fragrance and flavorings to present at Gulfood Manufacturing,” emphasizes Sofiane Berrahmoune, also pointing out the future-oriented approach of the company. “Most of all, we are looking forward to impressing with healthy and tasty innovations once again this year. The Gulfood Manufacturing takes place at the Dubai World Trade Centre in the United Arab Emirates and is considered to be the biggest trade show for the food processing industry in the region. Symrise will present at booth S3-B6.
