— Comprehensive corporate report on performance in the fiscal year 2013
— Goal of report integration consistently advanced

Sharing Values, the current corporate report from Symrise, provides a comprehensive account of the company’s performance in the 2013 fiscal year and shows how the company is creating value for all. With a target group-oriented inter-linking of its corporate media, Symrise continues to follow the principle of integrated reporting.

Shared values provide the basis for shared goals at Symrise: striving for economic success while taking on responsibility for the environment, employees and society. This guiding principle can be seen throughout the entire corporate report, which focuses on the key aspects of Symrise’s 2013 fiscal year as well as the company’s strategic goals to be reached by 2020.

Articles and interviews give readers insight into select highlights from the fiscal year 2013, such as the sustainable cultivation of thousands of tons of onions in cooperation with local farmers from the Holzminden area, social commitments to over 7,000 vanilla farmers in Madagascar, cutting-edge projects from the new research center in Holzminden, the investment into a new, innovative regional headquarters in Singapore and much more.

Together with the report, Symrise publishes an online version that is accessible on all mobile devices and was specially designed to be easy to navigate. The printed report is supplemented here with information tailored to the needs of the various stakeholders. The report therefore fulfills the highest reporting standard (A) of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and includes a Communication on Progress (CoP) regarding the principles of the UN Global Compact.

Under the heading “Agenda 2020,” Symrise has summarized its areas of focus that will guide its corporate activity in every region and market around the globe for the coming years. An interview with the Executive Board shows how closely Symrise connects these trends with sustainable business: The company wants to grow between 5 % and 7 % annually by 2020 and maintain an EBITDA margin between 19 and 22 %. Symrise is also focused on maintaining its global presence and balanced customer portfolio, ensuring a secure, sustainable and high-quality supply of raw materials as well as on developing further innovative products and technologies. It also aims to reduce the environmental footprint of Symrise products by 33 % by 2020.

“We want to continue to expand on the concept of creating value for all,” explains Dr. Heinz-Jürgen Bertram, CEO of Symrise AG. “By taking into account the requirements of our stakeholders at all stages of the value chain, we achieve concrete competitive advantages and secure the company’s long-term success.”
