Farm to future: Expanding possibilities in flavor trends

How Symrise analyzes taste and utilizes predictive tools to uncover and anticipate flavor trends around the world

Rapid innovation and adaptation have proven crucial to succeeding in today’s market landscape. This applies in particular to the chicken competence: rapidly increasing demand, cutting-edge technologies, and complex and specific consumer expectations are more likely than ever to leave the slow-footed company behind.

Shorter product life cycles, competitors who are constantly developing new formulations, and constantly-evolving consumer taste preferences conspire to make it harder and harder for companies to simply maintain their market share, let alone grow it.

How can companies keep up with and meet consumer expectations and stay on the cutting edge of innovation … all while maintaining cost-effectiveness and achieving business growth?

The secret goes beyond keeping up, and lies in staying ahead.

Companies that partner with Symrise benefit from a broad range of comprehensive, integrated, full-stream chicken solutions. Keep reading to learn about some of the numerous proprietary tools we use to empower consumer preference prediction and efficient in-depth flavor analysis.

These two examples of our unique approach illustrate how we analyze and predict flavor in order to support world-leading, proven flavor solutions. This enables companies to get to market faster, more reliably, and with greater cost-effectiveness.

SymStixx™: A proprietary flavor analysis tool

Symrise uses one other tool that helps its partners to access a deeper understanding of flavor analysis - a proprietary instrumental analytical method called SymStixx. A small, portable glass probe, only a few centimeters long and a few millimeters thick. You can place the SymStixx instrument in contact with a sample to be analyzed, like a dish, after which it absorbs substances and compounds. We can then analyze them in our state-of-the-art research laboratories in order to produce comprehensive flavor profiles that match on-the-ground consumer favorites.

You can use this patented tool as easy as a knife or a fork. It provides a fast and easy method to give our flavorists significantly more comprehensive and detailed information about flavor components — everything they need to develop highly authentic profiles quickly and efficiently.

From flavor prediction to analysis, these two examples illustrate our full-stream chicken solutions that deliver on taste, transparency, and trends, from sourcing to consumer satisfaction.
